How does Counselling Work?
Let's start with a 15-20 minute call - it's free!
You can briefly tell me what brings you to counselling and I'll ask you about what you want from sessions. You're then welcome to ask any questions, before either booking in or giving it a bit more thought. Contact me to arrange a call, or just call now - if I'm free, we can talk.
What happens in Counselling Sessions?
We'll meet regularly, at a time that suits you. You'll be able to talk through your problems confidentially, without any judgement and at a pace that feels safe for you. Together, we'll look at understanding your feelings and issues and find some tools to help you cope, all while looking towards a brighter future.
The most important factor in helping you move forward is the positive relationship between us. It's essential that you feel comfortable working with me, and I work hard to ensure that. We will always work in a way that's comfortable for you, as I'll tailor my approach to your unique situation and personality. Merlin is always on hand with extra reassurance and sometimes a light snore! There's more information about what to expect in my blog if you're interested.

What's My Experience?
With experience working with a wide range of adults, university students, and children (12+), I'm able to develop strong connections with people from all walks of life. No matter your background, you’ll be met with warmth, respect and a non-judgmental space where you can speak openly. In addition to formal qualifications, I bring a huge amount of life experience to my work as a counsellor. My former career in the military (Royal Navy) gives me a unique perspective on resilience and adaptation, which is something that helps me to make a real difference when you need someone calm and clear-minded to help you with your mental health.
